A growing number of Republicans fear that a battery of new revelations in the far-reaching Russia investigation has dramatically heightened the legal and political danger to Donald Trump’s presidency — and threatens to consume the rest of the party, as well.

President Trump added to the tumult Saturday by announcing the abrupt exit of his chief of staff, John F. Kelly, whom he sees as lacking the political judgment and finesse to steer the White House through the treacherous months to come.
‘Siege warfare’: Republican anxiety spikes as Trump faces growing legal and political perils

Sorry autumn but the republican controlled senate will never impeach trump. They will however damage their brand significantly and cost themselves elections for years to come.
So that’s the good news.

Siege. What a great word to use to describe the ongoing ceaseless ( I say senseless) slow grind of an attack to bring down our President. It is such a shame that so much time and money is being wasted on this when it could be put to better use elsewhere. Supposedly the Russians were looking to sow chaos into the election and to turn us against each other and with the way the Dems have been conducting themselves, Putin must be very happy.

What is really sad is that the Dems are probably scaring off anyone with an "R" attached to their name from ever thinking of running.

The Democrats would lay siege to any opponent to sap their legitimacy in the eyes of the public and that is rotten.

I don't know. At some point, they may realize they have to cut Trump loose.

Republicans have 22 seats up in 2020.

Democrats only 12.

What if House Democrats hold hearings for the next year then pass Articles of Impeachment on to the Senate the summer of 2020?

How does a Republican Senator campaign on voting against righteous Articles of Impeachment?

How do Republicans chose Trump to be their 2020 candidate if he, his family, and his cohorts are under numerous criminal investigations?

There's loyalty to the base and then there's survival instinct.

The constitution is under siege by liberals as it has been for some time.
Lets not confuse it by claiming the GOP is under siege.
The struggle between republicans and democrats for power is uninterrupted.

If anyone is under siege its the people who's voice has been ignored. The effort to keep them silent is like the catapult battering the castle walls.
Fund the wall and the castle walls and lets repair the damage by democrats and republicans.

Nothing matters since the country is in this place where no one can agree on what the facts mean, or even which things are facts.

It’s looking more and more like Trump did do some illegal things (!!!) but he can’t be arrested since he’s the President. Impeachment is a political act which means it’s highly unlikely to happen. I don’t know where that leaves the country. Not in anyplace good, that’s for sure.

You may be right about impeachment, since the Trump FASCIST Republicans in todays Senate, do not have one iota of the decency of the Republicans who voted to impeach Nixon.

However, as long as that DIRT-BAG-THUG leaves our White House, with the death knell for the GOP,I will be pretty happy.

That's true. But those around the President also have to worry about their own personal involvement and discussions; having to hire personal attorneys (also experienced by those around Clinton and Lewinsky).

I think Kelly saw the writing on the wall and he's getting out while the getting is good.

Their frenzy to fracture the country knows no bounds. Their blind hatred to anything but their ideals is truly frightening and delusional.

Yeah.

Here's a name for you ~ Ken Starr. Ya'll had NO problem with him 'fracturing the country' over a private affair.

Cry me a river.
