Truth. The right does want to ban abortion and end social security and medicare.
Lie from the right. The left does not want to ban guns and the 2nd amendment or let illegals in wholesale.
Truth. The left wants more restrictions on owning guns, not banning them. The left does not want to repeal the 2nd amendment. Lefties own guns too, you know. The left does not want unrestricted, open borders. The left wants anyone requesting asylum to have their legal right to request it. The left wants immigration reform with reasonable restrictions and for it to be carried out in an orderly and lawful fashion. The left does not want children separated from their parents and kept in cages or in tent cities in the desert.

The left does not want and has never wanted open borders; Trump spews this and you believe. Nor does 'the left' want to disarm the law abiding poplace; they do want more regulation of gun sense laws.
Are you completely unaware that abortions ARE strictly regulated with a waiting period, age restrictions, and so on and so forth?????????
You would never know the difference so it would not matter.
Kind of like people who push for abortion would not know how sick their soul is and what might be waiting for them when they die?
The only thing standing in the way of cannabis legalization right now is the Republican Party. It's hard to believe what is completely legal in secular blue states will land you behind bars when you cross into a Bible Belt state.
As for the original topic, I think the Democratic Party needs to back off guns completely at least in the near future. It's a losing issue for them. Not sure what the solution is for abortion as most of the GOP base demands ideological purity on that issue. There can be no compromise with the pro-choice side.
The democrats track record with drug laws are no better...it was under Obama that the DEA cracked down on prescription opioids. Obama could have vetoed or found a way to stop it, but he didnt. He also had 8 yrs to end the general war on drugs...he did absolutely nothing.

The words one chooses reveal the side they're on. A few examples from your post relative to political parties were: "banning" and "letting in illegals wholesale".
An un-informed voter would just go along with that hyperbolic language without checking.
Of all us, the one-issue voter is most dangerous because they're not thinking of the greater good (they usually endure bait-and switch, later, though).
So, yeah I get what you're saying but many people are choosing passionate sound bites over information and they're the target for votes, which is all that matters to political parties.
