Agreed. Treatment for addicts who seek it, yes. The rest of the mess? No. We should have figured this out after Prohibition.

Sorry, i'm on the left, but this IS the position of the ideologues in the Dem party. There is no room for a position that seeks real border control.
Actually let's put it this way then...

The left don't seek to ban all guns (yet) but they do seek to ban a class or some classes of guns, and make strict rules and regulations on buying or owning any gun.

So let me ask, if the right were just trying to ban a class of abortion, not all abortion, and also enact strict rules and regulations to get a abortion , like background check, waiting period, mental stability profiling and age limitations and the like how do you think the pro-abortion side would respond to that?

Some on the left are more "forgiving" and will permit the peasantry to keep their single shot and/or grandpa Fudd guns... with copious restrictions, mind you:

And that's just a quick cherry-picking off the current top google hits. Don't tell me lefty's don't want to ban guns... they clearly do and are rather loud about it.

I consider myself a Centralist since I'm both pro gun and pro choice. About twenty years ago, I concidered myself more of a Truman/Kennedy/Johnson Democrat, but the Democratic Party has veered way too far to the left for my likings.

I think people today are way too quick in putting labels on Americans because it's not as simple as saying I'm "pro-Trump" or "pro-Obama." It's far more than that.

When it became an issue when you're stating that you're a Nationalist, you are automatically considered siding with "White" Nationalist when that's the furthest thing from the truth. I have never considered myself a Globalist because I love my country, The United States of America, more than any other country on the planet. I respect all countries and IMHO, nothing good can come out of thinking that the U.S. and our global economical/military power doesn't make us an equal with Albania, The Congo, Burma or Mali... That is the furthest thing from the truth since we're not equal at all levels with other countries. I cannot see where some would concider that a racist statement since to me, it just a factural statement, base soley on my own views with data that I researched for myself.

Just to make it clear, I truly dislike any form of Nazism or any Nazi supporters, but I have to say that they have the right to be as screwed up as they want to be.

I am a moderate. I am pro right to bear arms and peaceably assemble to redress grievances ( no Antifa rampages), anti-illegal immigration, pro environment, agnostic so prefer religion and politics do not mix and am torn on abortion. I couldn’t and didn’t but can’t put myself in the place of one who has to make that choice.

I didn’t vote for either candidate in 2016. No viable choice. In the last midterm election, I voted for either party. It seems in Washington state, the Left is becoming more extreme, re Seattle City Council and my city tries to be its secret sister. But, the Right is anti-environment. Sometimes, I choose neither. I need my own party.

My favorite presidents and they are not without their shortcomings are Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower. I admire Lincoln because of his rags to riches story and the first to declare a national park, Roosevelt because of national parks, and Eisenhower because he didn’t tolerate illegal aliens and the interstate system.

Yes, the Democrats in Washington state have gone overboard with the equal outcomes mantra, sanctuary cities, and nanny state legislation. A council person where I live said that those of you who live in single family homes are priveleged. Huh, what? Thankfully, she moved to Alaska but her appointed successor is an immigration lawyer. They just get crazier.

Truth. The right does want to ban abortion and end social security and medicare.

Lie from the right. The left does not want to ban guns and the 2nd amendment or let illegals in wholesale.

Truth. The left wants more restrictions on owning guns, not banning them. The left does not want to repeal the 2nd amendment. Lefties own guns too, you know. The left does not want unrestricted, open borders. The left wants anyone requesting asylum to have their legal right to request it. The left wants immigration reform with reasonable restrictions and for it to be carried out in an orderly and lawful fashion. The left does not want children separated from their parents and kept in cages or in tent cities in the desert.
