There are thousands who believe Trumps lies and fantasy conversations. Some right here on CD. They are the liars biggest cheerleaders.

Last summer, Trump repeated claims of conversations about U.S. Steel opening six new steel plants.

“The head of U.S. Steel called me the other day, and he said, ‘We’re opening up six major facilities and expanding facilities that have never been expanded.’ They haven’t been opened in many, many years.”

As a publicly traded company, U.S. Steel "is supposed to disclose materially important information. The opening of six major facilities and the expansion of even more would be huge news."

No such openings or expansions have been announced by U.S. Steel.

In the week or so before the November 2018 midterm elections he said a tax cut for the middle class was in the works and people would see it soon.

"In August the president described a phone conversation with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto that, in reality, never occurred."

"Before that, Trump was excited about a phone call he’d received from the head of the Boy Scouts, which also hadn’t happened."

Then there was his claim that former Presidents have told him of their support for the wall. Spokespeople for former Presidents deny any such conversations took place.

The unsettling list of Trump's made-up conversations keeps growing | MSNBC

Trump claims that people have called him at the WH to voice their support for his shutdown.

Impossible as the WH switchboard has not been in operation during the shutdown.

What do you make of this?

Is the POTUS delusional, does he actually believe these imaginary conversations took place?

Or does he know he is making them much as he makes up imaginary statistics that he claims "someone" told him?

It is both. He IS delusional, but he also knows he is lying and fabricating something, but he feels it doesn't matter because he can always reverse what he said and no one will remember.

I think all of us have known some compulsive liar in our lives. They live in a different world than we do. People KNOW that person lies, and laugh at them, but the liar just keeps making up bigger and more outrageous lies because they can not stop themselves.

Donald Trump is a perfect example of a compulsive liar. Most of us sit there, when he comes out with some whopper, and ask "Did he REALLY just say that !" but he goes on and on , as if no one will ever fact check him, or call him on his untruth. He has gotten away with it all his life, so why stop now.

unfortunately there appear to be enough stupid people that will believe most anything, that's how he got elected. President Imbecile wasn't the first politician to use this tactic, but he was the first to tap into the social media lifestyle to gill net his followers. So, here we are.

The people deserve the government they get.

Why, because "some people" do believe everything he says and they don't think he's a liar or a con man or a crook.

Instead of 'steel slats', perhaps the nation should be investing in tinfoil hats for the afflicted.

Trump was rambling on about Europe the other day.

Something about not caring about Europe, and that the same nonsense about being ripped off and Europeans owing the US money. He then suggested Germany should spend 4% GDP on defence.

Whilst I agree the Germans should be paying the 2%, I don't see how they owe the US any money or why they should be paying 4%.

We all know Trump talks total nonsense at time, however his base seem to lap this nonsense up.

Maybe he can enlist Hadrian's descendants for support.
