Yeah, feel free to not take statins for cholesterol, and to not get flu shots. LOL. Maybe you will be one of the thousands who die from the flu this next year. as for profits? LOL. 2013 flu shots were a 3.1 billion dollar market...0.3% of sales for big pharma. Flu shots are insignificant.
This is true. Flu vaccine marketing is a small part of any pharma company and it's not much of a moneymaker.

The big money is in drugs that treat STDs and cancer. Also: asthma and diabetes drugs.

Poll was worded poorly. I'm not opposed to getting one but I never do.

Not opposed to it, I just never get one.

If I was in some situation that it was required, like working in a hospital, I would have no issue complying and getting one.

Similar thing happened to me. I have never had the flu in my life, until one year they were giving them away at my work, and I was like, why not? Bad mistake on my part. I ended up getting the flu and was in bed for a good two weeks. I refused to get the flu shot since then, and haven't been sick again.

I have rethought the matter just now based on your suggestion.

And nope. The poll was worded exactly the right way for polling the question that I wanted to ask people for their answer to.

Lets take 1,000 people wearing seat belts that get into a serious accident.

1 person dies that can attributed to wearing the seat belt.

10 people die because the accident was so sever the seat belt did not help.

The other 989 people survive.

The flu shot is similar. Its not perfect but it helps tremendously to reduce the risk.

Then many are not able to answer which doesn't give a very good overview of the item at hand.

Same here.

I'm not anti-vax, just don't see the point given it's proven to not be very effective.

The article is not so hot either.

Some think the side effects are worse than the flu itself, but that's just a myth. Usually the only side effect is a sore arm.

*Usually*. Does that mean for some the side effects might be worse? If so then it is not a myth.
