After failing to strike a budget deal on Friday, congressional leaders and the White House pledged to keep talking through the weekend in search of a deal to end the shutdown ahead of the Christmas holiday.
Anyone think they will stay and work this out or will they take the four day weekend like everyone else in DC?
It could drag on. Trump is feeling proud of his accomplishment per his own statement. Other than his shutdown, he doesn't have a whole lot to take pride in.
Senate already voted to pay furloughed federal workers when things are back on track.
Not to worry, Mike Pence, jack-of-all-trades Jared Kushner, and acting Chief of Staff and Budget Direct Mick Mulvaney are on the case, meeting with Trump to figure out a solution.
Whenever it ends, it ends badly for Trump. He shut down the government because Congress won't pay for a wall the American people don't want and that he promised them they would not have to pay for. That's a pretty weak position, right there.
