Ah, the "lived experience" stuff. The problem with the "lived experience" model for understanding society is that our perceptions are often wrong and none more often than those times in which we are convinced someone or something is out to get us.

Correct. Some still are. Many are not. The worst evidence for them are "lived experiences" of individuals - subjective anecdotes or suppositions devoid of any objective evidence.
And whitey is collectively responsible for the sins of the past, right?
It's not the past. It's the present.
