Americans want a SECURE BORDER like every other developed country has. Why should America be the only one to let unvetted, ILLEGAL ALIENS in to drain our resources and pose a security threat? Americans want a wall, and are donating their hard earned money to fund it.
Trump never said Mexico would give us a check for the wall. The money will come from the savings we get for not having illegals siphon off our welfare, healthcare, and education, and better trade deals with Mexico. That is how they are going to pay for it. Actually the offer was $25 billion for border security earlier. Dems and GOP agreed on it along with DACA, but Trump did not. He wants a physical wall, but that does not seem to be the consensus of most.
Why do you keep constantly leaving out the fact that the $25 billion was to be funded over a 10 year period only giving Trump a little over a billion the first year and that's why he turned down the deal? I have corrected you several time on that! So what are you doing?

Utter nonsense and lies! Trump was never offered the $25 billion in one lump sum in exchange for the
DACAs. Why do you keep twisting this? Trump was willing to give them the DACAs if they gave him the $25 billion all at once not over a 10 year period which could be voted down with a new president down the line, especially if they were a Democrat.
He has had protypes built. He will choose which one works best. It could be a solid wall or a see through one. He is leaning towards a steel post one with spikes on the top. How can you say he isn't interested in border security when he campaigned on it and has been fighting for it every since he took office? He even let the government shut down over it. He has to take an inferior deal to prove it now? It just goes to show how strongly he wants it when he's not going to settle for what won't completely secure the border for years!
We already tried this high tech stuff a few years ago and we had to scrap it because it had so many flaws in it. It was a waste of our tax dollars. You're not really well informed on this issue, are you?
Maybe if the actions of the Dems spoke louder than their words then we'd believe that they don't essentially want open borders.

I see the wall fight as not really being about the wall at all. Rather it is a fight by the GOP to hold to core supporters who are very much against some of the values expressed by the Left.

Wrong, Trump repeatedly said Mexico will pay for the wall. Not tax payers will pay for the wall and Mexico will pay us back through better deals. Do we need to post all the videos of Trump saying who will pay for the wall?
