We are defending our people against terror attacks like 9/11. Some of us still remember it.
I've already covered that. 9-11 happened because we refused to mind our own business elsewhere.

No. Finish it, and come home. The plan was to train the locals to take over and control in long term, but Trump pulled then out when they were only 20% done.
Trump is the Commander in Chief. His goal was defeating ISIS, not training others. In his mind, it is done - as they have suffered great losses and are not doing much fighting right now. He did it the Mattis' way for a year - now he's done.
So the 20% doesn't matter to him - especially since we have been there for well over a decade already, as it is not part of his goal.
Trump has already deferred to the Mattis against his campaign promise. Interesting that when Trump goes in a different direction, Mattis quits. Makes you wonder who is the impulsive one here...

We haven't "defeated" Isis. If he wants to claim that to bring the troops home, well, whatever, I guess I'm a hypocrite as I'm not going to call him out on his lies.
