When the Dow takes a massive dive Congress must invoke article 25.

The increasing interest rates are part of it but it has been expected for at least 6 months. Stock lower but not precipitously as investments rotate.

There are no underlying business profitability concerns to explain this. IMHO the precipitous drop is due to shareholders selling on dismay at the (unpredictive) behavior of Trump and as they sold automatic sell orders amplified the direction of the market. Stock markets do not like uncertainty.

6 months ago hedge funds started getting out of the market. Some smaller one's sold off and closed shop.

That's when I went and re-centered 401K.

Keep eyes open beyond the key board.

I don't really see a crash coming - not one like '07/08. Companies are still making money, and that wasn't true when real estate crashed. When real estate crashed, people who had leveraged themselves out on a limb simply walked away. And that hurt.
BOL!
You just keep on telling yourself and one day you might actually believe it

We, our children and grandchildren will be paying off the debt of the tax cut to the rich that was supposed to push the economy into the stratosphere. One year after passage the markets are in shambles and trillions of dollars of wealth and retirement savings have been wiped out. When will people learn? GOP policies = bad economy. Toss in a fool for president and you get what we got.

I'm sure the massive weight of tens of trillions of dollars worth in debt that will never be repaid has nothing to do with the stock market's recent behavior.

“Can you believe this?” Trump reportedly said as he read through headlines. “I’m doing great, but it’s a war every day.”

A very delusional man.

If curious, research the crashes of 1987, 2000, and 2008.
It also depends on how soon they plan to use it. Someone in five years may see some gains come back but if you are 10 years, we might see a similar boat due to typical market trends.
