A while back I tried to include the phrase "c h I n k in the armor" in a post.
The profanity filters wouldn't let me without separating the letters as above.
Further evidence of PC gone crazy.
No, further evidence of how computers and software work.

Your post would lead me to believe that you shouldn't be the one to call others snowflakes.

No one else is going to say this, so I will. In 24 years of surfing the Internet/World Wide Web, the vast majority of message boards/forums are dominated by men. The enjoyable ones were unpoliced, short of someone making a real, deliverable threat against someone. That means that nasty words, insults, racism, sexism, the whole enchilada were allowed. Guys deal with it. Barely anyone threatens to have someone shut up or stopped. It's cyberspace, not the real world.
Then you have places like this. You will notice that most of the moderators are women. This place in general has far more women than most online forums. Unsurprisingly, you have far more rules and far more policing. That's because women react far differently to the behavior I mentioned above. They take those things much more personally and are much, much more willing to demand that someone be shut up or banned for writing things they don't like. This is how you get these silly filters so that no one is wounded by a dumb ethnic slur or a reference to genitalia (the horror!)
Very few guys, particularly guys above a certain age, would ever want to be a schoolmarm here nor anywhere else. You will, however, find many women who will be happy to take on the role of schoolmarm in places like this to make sure people aren't writing things that might hurt someones' feelings or jar someone into thinking about something they don't want to think about.
