Can't even begin to read through this thread. The Obama's have said enough anti-American over the years they should not rank near the top.

I'd rather put Barbara Jordan or Condeleezza Rice as a better role model over Michelle. Barrack was a mediocre President at the very best ranking below Bush 2.

Without that, this is bogus. What if 60% of the 1,000+ polled were Dems, 10% idependents, and 30% Repubublicans?
Then, by the breakdown of results by political affiliation given in this article, Obama would have had 24% to Trump's 11% (rather than the 19-13 result reported by Gallup).

From the breakdown and the totals given by Gallup, a possible split of the poll sample is 40% R, 40% D, and 20% I. That's not necessarily what they had, but the math would check out between the two tables in the article with such a split.

People need to stop admiring politicians. There are other people that really are worthy of admiration -- I'll give you Warren Buffett as one of them - but virtually no politicians are.

Career politicians have become the new ROYALTY. The often get re-elected for decades, and lose the reason they are in office in the first place. They are self serving, sometimes, if not often corrupt, with too much ego. They work for US!

How do many politicians become rich in political office?

Lightbulb America's Most Admired Woman and Man:The Obamas

A lot of Trumpling anger and hatred on display in this thread.

It just occurred to me why the popularity of the Obamas (decent family folks) enrages the tRump base so thoroughly.

This development is one more reminder to them of how far out of step they are with the rest of America. It confirms their status as a shrinking minority. It creates a talking point for the slack-jawed hate radio jocks (Hannity, Limbaugh, etc) to feed their anxiety.

Blame it all on Obama.

Former President Barack Obama was the winner among men for the 11th consecutive year.
President Trump ranked second for the 4th year in a row.

Most admired man (percent mentioning):
-Barack Obama (19%)
-Donald Trump (13%)
-George W. Bush (2%)
-Pope Francis (2%)

A woman other than Hillary Clinton was named by Americans as the woman they admire most for the first time in 17 years, according to @Gallup.

Most admired woman (percent mentioning):
-Michelle Obama (15%)
-Oprah Winfrey (5%)
-Hillary Clinton (4%)
-Melania Trump (4%)

What a wonderful example of the style, grace, education, love and hope they are to America. They keep winning.

Despite the fact that they're not "winning"....

Do you mean the Michelle Obama whose "When they go low, we go high" mantra is legendary, yet who's been dissing her successor as she appears on every gabfest to promote her book? That Michelle Obama?

On one, your exemplary idol even smirked and put on her puke puss when Fallon held up the picture of Melania Trump [gasp!] presenting her with that gift, and Mrs. Obama donning a look of consternation.

Interesting...because she did the same thing for Mrs. Bush when the Bushes left the WH:

Attachment 206333

Obviously, we all have our standards when it comes to grace, elegance....and love. And most of us don't need to resort to picking from names presented in a certain order on a LIST provided by a pollster, either.

Anyone who admires a politician is a lost cause and just a pure idiot who needs to be controlled because they can't think or function on their own. Who would admire people who lie for a living? Who cheat the system for their own gain? Who are corrupt? That says a lot about whoever voted in that poll.
