actually since (like all uniformed service) they get paid mid month and end of month..they do get a check today (actually Monday) that covers up till the 21st when the shutdown started
You know, I know a lot of people say that: Stop Their Pay and see what happens. But have you looked at the wealth of *most* of our Congressional reps? With the exception of the newbies, they are all incredibly wealthy. Losing their government pay wouldn't really hurt most of them.
All the more reason to cut their pay off first and foremost.

Another one who "knows" more than the actual people in the USCG, the military times, and so on.
"Unless legislation is passed by Friday, Dec. 28, our military workforce will not receive our regularly scheduled pay check for 31 Dec.," Chief Warrant Officer Allyson Conroy said in a statement to NBC News on Wednesday."

uhm...I am career military , now retired from the military but still working for MY government as a Army Civilian
Active and Reserve military members(including Homelands CoastGuard) will be paid on time for pay earned prior to the expiration of the CRA(the shutdown) . Active duty military and on-duty reservists cannot be paid for duty performed after the CRA expired, until additional legislation is enacted. Once another CRA or an appropriationsact is signed into law, normal disbursement of pay will resume for pay earnedafter employees return to work. Military members who perform duty during theshutdown will be entitled to retroactive payments.
directly from DFAS (defense finance)
IOW they will get an EOM paycheck..but will be much smaller than usual

So we are supposed to take the word of some rando on the internet without a source over the military times? Are you calling them liars? The chief warrant officer as well?

is that really too hard for you to comprehend??
And still no source. More just “take my word for it” and wrong at that.
Should Congress pass a special law that members of the Coast Guard get paid by the 1st of January because they were scheduled to get their first paycheck since the shutdown started before the majority of Federal workers?
They have before - in 2014, within hours. Unanimous and bipartisan. It's not like it can't be done. But WILL they do it - that's the question. Jerks.
So, my local Washington DC news affiliate just reported that the active duty Coast Guard members will miss their paychecks because they are not funded by the DoD budget but by the DHS budget (which is not funded).
