The very title of this thread reveals the problem with the Democrats: It wouldn't have been Trump's wall. It would have been the American people's wall, built to protect them from those who brazenly violate our immigration laws.

Now we have some idiot D senator complaining that Trump is trying to make it a crime when an illegal alien gets a DUI. (Hint: It IS a crime. Why should illegal immigrants' get better treatment than law-abiding Americans when it comes to crimes?)

But, as a liberal, I'm sure you don't care about any of those things. It would limit power in the future because the left can't racially demagogue minorities into voting for Democrats.
If he wanted to fight drugs and human trafficking he would devote more resources to ports of entry rather than a wall. The conclusion of the El Chapo trial was very timely and gives a perfect example of how things come into our country, instead Trump is focused on creating some hyperbole not based on fact.

Talking Ds and Rs agree to 55 miles of fence, no wall for Trump

Within a couple of days, we'll find out what co-presidents Hannity, Limbaugh and Coulter will command tRump to do about it.

This should prove to be amusing.

I am glad that President Trump is accepting this deal. He will now have plenty of time to use his negotiating skills for the budget next fall.

He is being prudent, which is good, and, from him, rather amazing.

Immigration advisor Coulter already weighed in waiting to hear from Hannity and Limbaugh.

Quote:
Coulter weighed in Trump talks a good game on the border wall but it's increasingly clear he's afraid to fight for it," Coulter tweeted to her 2.13 million followers. "Call this his 'Yellow New Deal.'"
The tweet from Coulter, who has repeatedly criticized the president in recent months for not securing the necessary funds to build a wall along much of the U.S.-Mexico border, comes as Trump mulls signing off on the compromise reached by Republican and Democratic lawmakers Monday night.

She also warned in a tweet late Monday that the U.S. "will become a socialist country" if the president doesn't get the wall built.

Walls, work great in homes and private property. The tunnels kind of put a damper on the "wall," theory, don't you think? Of course, we need border security, check points, but I think this leader of ours is causing more trouble and heartaches with his paranoia.

55 miles? After all this?

Trump should fall on his sword. Honor demands it.

Clown.

$1.375 billion in funding for 55 miles of border barriers. What a giant waste of money.

The mexicans are laughing at those 55 miles, which they can drive around.

Use that money to build some homeless shelters so we can deport all these homeless people here in California.

Trump will get the rest of the money he wants. Even if he has to rob it from the orphan children Christmas fund. He plans on using the wall for his 2020 campaign.
