Rebuilding the military is expensive. Obama should have done that instead of sending grant money out to groups who study the sex lives of snails.
Meanwhile Trump is asking for a decrease in budget from most departments. No matter which ones he cuts, The Left will howl. But they will also howl if he increases budgets, so they don't count.
"Rebuilding the military is expensive."

If dem presidents, carter, clinton and obama did NOT cut so much from the military, we would NOT have to spend so much much rebuilding.

"Meanwhile Trump is asking for a decrease in budget from most departments"

Every single fed program, military included, should go through an independent review to see:

If it is still need.

If it is effective.

If is it doing what its original charter was.

If it is efficient,

etc., etc., etc.

I worked in BOTH a civilian agency and the DoD and 25% could be saved by eliminating waste, fraud and abuse.

It stands to reason those that PAY the MOST should get the BIGGEST cuts.

Leftists just want everyone to pay more taxes not less. Every time this topic comes up it's obvious that's what they want. They had no issue whatsoever using QE to prop up the markets when Obama was in office and raising the debt more than it's ever been raised in history, but freak out when people get to keep more of their own money.

The full impact of this reckless tax cut won't be decided until after April when the tax receipts for 2018 are in but right now it looks like we are in for some record setting deficits and an economy that is declining.
"you wouldn't handle your household budget the same way the republicans did last December."

Show us when the dems have done any better.

And No, clinton did NOT balance the budget.

"The full impact of this reckless tax cut"

Revenues have INCREASED since the tax cuts took place.

You should watch what you call "reckless", a mirror might help.

" and an economy that is declining". What bizarre world do you live in?

My area is BOOMING with new housing and commercial construction.

About 500 bucks for me net net. I will take it of course but am fully aware this was more about giving the .1% more money.

Only sort of. They got rid of exemptions. Net plus for me but nothing overwhelming. The one thing that surprised me was the GOP willingness to screw over some of their natural constituencies in high tax states in the 150 to 500K dollar income range.

Proof partisans on either side make up their own definitions of words. Dems do it also.

Socialist, marxist, justice, privilege, fascist etc do not actually mean anything any more.

Revenue problem? In 2018, the US fed gov collected more revenue than any time in history, exactly how much more damn money does the federal government need?
"Rebuild the military? What in the hell about it needs rebuilt?"

The fact that you ask the question only shows how LITTLE you know about the subject.

We do NOT have enough airplanes for our pilots to train in, for 1 example.

As far as the "rich" purchasing a new yacht, does that not help provide jobs for others? By the way, I'm willing to bet that you are aware that the "rich" pay far more in taxes while a large percentage of our population pays.......none! ....guess they shouldn't benefit from tax breaks because they are evil and not paying "their fair share." (whatever that may be)!

Elliot would rather see all those people lose their jobs, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, masons, material suppliers, etc then for a "rich" man to buy his yacht or a 4th car, a new vacation house that needs remodeling, etc.

I’m very curious how this is going to turn out for most Americans.

I don't think that includes Corporate Tax Cuts, so the figure is effectively much bigger.....

So the "average" 100K household probably has borrowed $10,000 or more from their own children and grandchildren in order to receive $1,000 in cuts.

Not really sound economics...but for those who could care less about the present and future it makes warped sense.

"70% plus went to 200K plus earners..." and what percentage of revenues collected came from those 200k earners.

Many on the left just can't comprehend those that make the most PAY the MOST in taxes.
