I think the OP is ignoring an obvious fact. Much of the disparity between blacks and whites is related to life choices. In the inner city many more people CHOOSE to use drugs, commit crimes to support their drug habit and embrace a life of violence. The ghetto is a culture upon itself, many of its residents do not want it changed. They like it the way it is and resent those who do more than offer them free stuff. Even though it is these folks who choose a life of ignorance, crime and drugs they still blame white people for their plight. This divisive environment where blacks blame whites for all their ills, condemn whites for everything they have ever done and expect whites to engage in everlasting penetance for slavery and Jim Crow is damaging race relations in a way that could take decades to undo the damage. Any liberal who doesn’t think white people (who still are the majority) have not become angry and resentful are delusional. Donald Trump was elected because people wanted to see the race card holders, the politically correct and the social justice warriors put back in their place. The whole perception of black people as perpetual victims of white injustice is just part of the great division between the leftists and the traditional conservatives that is threatening to tear our country apart. Those waving the race card (as well as the socialist, feminist, atheists, and gay activists) will be responsible for a coming civil war that will damage our nation beyond fixing. We are no longer a united people. White people are done apologizing and tired of being demonized. Much of America is tired of squawking social justice warriors. No more.
The sad thing is that white people, at least most white people are not the racists that many blacks think we are. In fact most black people live no different than anyone else. They are our neighbors, coworkers, friends etc. My point is most black people do not come from inner city ghettos. Why do people who commit crime and choose unproductive lives get to speak for an entire race? I would rather hear from black people who have been contributing to society than those who do not. We do not see white people who live in trailer parks and collect welfare representing the white race do we? Why on earth do ghetto dwellers have such sway over black culture and politics? Why? It makes no sense.

Frankly, I don’t give a damn what white folks think or who they compare us to in order to salve their own consciousness about how we got to our present situation in the first place.
No other race or ethnic group has a story in the United States that’s comparable to ours. In fact, African immigrants are just as foreign to our experience as Asians are. African Americans are NOT immigrants to this country, and no immigrant group regardless of race shares any aspect of our unique history in the Americas.
well of course you won't, b/c you can't listen and learn, you are not right about everything and American's are dog dead tired of hearing about slavery..not that it wasn't wrong, not that Americans don't feel very badly about it, but it's done and over, and for many years a lot of people have been using that as a crutch for their anger for being where they are. But American's are tired of it being used for all the wrong reasons.
I'm sorry but you get what you give....and as long as you keep throwing this up to American's that is racist in itself....It happened how many years ago...? And yes, it was a horrible dirty dangerous unspeakable thing to do....but now it's time to move forward, and develop the race into respectable human beings using education....people need to be taught how to be parents, how to not have babies in unwed situations....and to work hard for everything you wish to accomplish, not expect to be catered to or given freebees because of something that happened how many years ago....?

yanno what bothers me the most, is when all those kids were protesting, jumping up and down on police cars...burning up stores and breaking the property of not only privet property but the community property....and only one mother came forward and drug her kid home....where were the rest of those kids parents, and if they care so much about their communities, why didn't they stop all the rioting...?
Those kids were their kids, and their responsibility, and yet, they were cheered on....they learn what they learn from their parents, or lack thereof....

I watched a video of mothers in a chucky cheese, who got into a fist fight over some man....woman, in front of their kids punching each other, pulling each other's hair, and calling each other names....no wonder things don't change....
and it makes me so angry that those poor kids have to grow up like that....

No that's not true. lol Maybe you're thinking of William Ellison, a former slave, a black man who had the largest slave ownership of any BLACK man. At one time he was the only black slave owner in that state. I believe he had 60-80 slaves.
Its simple really. White people thought of blacks as less than human for hundreds of years in this country. The 1960's come along and equal rights were established through the Civil Rights Act, despite large swaths of white America vehemently opposing it. Now, most white people think if they haven't personally committed or witnessed blatant racism, it doesn't exist and life has been all parades and high 5's for black people since the civil war.
The situation isn't helped at all by the race baiting pot stirrers who call almost anything racism and try to make a buck off championing victimhood. It makes it easier for people to ignore actual racism.
I'd love race relations to improve, but really its about as good as its going to get IMO.

If black, you have no clue what whte peopel think, according to many blacks reasoning on here.
If white, have you talked to "most white people" YPURSELF and discussed this with them? Have you ASKED them.
You have NEVER sat down with me or any other white person I know, and I know PLENTY.
Your angry outbursts calling the white people who are making good points "racist" just shows how close-minded you are.
And you know what? That's not helping. Work with your community to help ensure that as many blacks as possible.....
1) Finish high school
2) Don't have a baby until they are married
....and the black poverty rate would be cut in half in 15 years.
Thing is-there is no profiting in that. People such as the OP, Al Sharpton, Jessie, etc, stand to loose when black people, as a whole, prosper. They can no longer hide their personal failures behind their skin color. Those of us that recognize that, as a whole, all races are equal in all important matters and have great opportunities in this country don't play that game.
