Trump is stating what Border Patrol agents have been telling him and they know better than anyone, especially Fancy Nancy and the Ancient Schumerian. Agents have been killed by illegals. For some reason opposition media and Dems think they know better though. It's strange that a few years ago they all agreed that illegal immigration was bad and we needed a barrier and they voted for it!

And people call Trump crazy?

Prevent the liberals from allowing our country to turn into a 3rd world country. Our country is crowded enough. American citizens first. House and help homeless citizens and homeless veterans instead of putting illegal alien families into subsidized housing. Liberals put illegal immigrants first. Liberals are destroying America and hate America. Resources are slim. Build the wall.

But the facts are, illegal crossings have falling dramatically since 2000, with arrests on the southern border dropping over 50%. Over 1 million arrests were fairly normal from 2000-2006, but by 2009 had fallen below 500,000 and since then many years have had under 400,000 according to US Customs.

The DEA has stated that most of the drug flow coming into the country is coming through legal checkpoints hidden among legal items.

Several studies show that US citizens are far more likely to commit violent crimes than illegals. On top of that, violent crime in the US has gone down dramatically in the last 30 years, a 36% decrease from 1990 levels. Some might not think thats the case because traditional and social media outlets spread news of violent crime because it gets them a lot of attention.

So how bad is the situation at the border if:

-crossings are down 60%+ since 2000
-most drugs are coming through legal checkpoints
-violent crime is down substantially for the last 30 years and illegals are less likely to do it than citizens

Regardless of whether or not you support the wall, do you think the border is in chaos as Trump claims? Or do you think he is ratcheting up the rhetoric to try and build more support?
If we are only arresting 400,000 people on the Southern border per year now it's clearly no big deal. I mean, a measly 400,000 people trying to illegally enter our country per year is nothing when we've already got an estimated 20,000,000 illegal aliens living in the country now. If border patrol catches half of everyone attempting to enter the country illegally every year we're only adding another 400,000 to the country every year with the ones they don't catch, that's no big deal right?

It is. I lived near the southern border and I dealt with almost daily property damage caused by these criminals.

The number of people arrested for attempting to enter illegally has gone down for years, we don't know how many people successfully make it into the country illegally... we can only guess at that number.

Our neighbors to the south are becoming more affluent and their fertility rates have fallen a bunch. But they still have much higher rates of violent crime, so an open border isn't practical.

I know more than a few ranchers who live on the border, these guys own property that they would end up losing to the border wall construction and they're some of the loudest proponents of building a wall. These guys have had their lives disrupted daily by illegal aliens crossing the border on their property, leaving trash behind by the truck load, destroyed property and even a few violent clashes with illegals over the years. The notion that people living near the border aren't affected by illegal immigration is laughable and absurd to say the very least.

And bazically no one is calling for an open border. Non sequitur.

And those that claim to live near the southern border and claim no problem are full of crap.
