This jerk just signed a bill giving furloughed employees back pay for the time they have been off.
Like that was required. The laws have stated for many years that RIFs (reductions in force) and furloughs must be given 90 days in advance for the no pay crap to be effective. And in my time with Civil Service I never saw an agency get enough notice of furlough to give proper notice.
But Trump will want to be thanked for the back pay, I am sure.
And those forced to work without pay. Not a chance.
The Fair Labor Standards Act has stated for years that any employee that is worked for any reason is entitled to pay at his current rate. It's called permitted suffering under the law.
What a clown!
