The games up, all the people here who desperately believe the US government is a democracy war engine spreading freedom and justice where it goes should have a tough time dealing with this.

Aside from screwing Putin and his petrol state, this is just another reason to get off fossil fuel. Rubio is just another corporate tool.

So, Maduro has been right all along...

While I think he is a bit nuts and incompetent, it is none of the West's business what is going on in Venezuela, until and unless there is a) a genocide or b) a military attack on their neighbors. Neither is the case. If Venezuelans want to get rid of Maduro, it is their job, and only theirs.

A self-proclaimed president is not exactly democratic, either.

And if a country doesn't want to be democratic, it is also their business. Democracy is just one form of government, there are others. Where are the sanctions on Saudi-Arabia with its horrific, killing regime?

Oddly, I think oil is the very reason why Venezuela has its crisis. Its economy totally depends on the export of oil, like 95% or so. And when oil prices tumbled a few years ago, so did the entire economy.

Add to that the radical witch hunt against left-wing governments, that the new axis of evil Washington-Brasilia-Jerusalem has started.

Really, so why are we trying to destroy them for oil revenue?
