Atheism is just a lack of belief in a "god", it does not push a moral framework on anyone because there is no membership to atheism, there are no rules, and nobody is in charge. Atheists rely on the law of the land to define and enforce moral behavior. Those laws are determined by the people through a democratic process, which I and most Americans are in favor of. If we had a Catholic theocracy, it would be the Pope in charge since Catholics are all supposed to obey him. That is about as far from Democracy as you can get since the Pope is a dictator in practical terms. No thank you.
