This should be an on-issue.
No one cares.

This part is false.

This part is true. Should the Fed decide to enforce the fed law that differs they can do so.

Currently we're in a situation where pretty much everyone including Fed law enforcement agrees the Fed law is absurd so it is NOT enforced, but for some reason Congress doesn't have the political will yet to change the law.

Get caught with some weed by someone working a federal LE job and you'll find out. Even in CA.

Nope, that isn't right either.

Marijuana is illegal everywhere, because there is a federal law prohibiting it. Federal law does indeed trump state law. Meaning, since I live in Colorado, if I am abiding by state marijuana laws, Colorado officials cannot bust me. But federal officials certainly could, even in the privacy of my own Colorado home.

On the other hand, just because something is legal federally, that does not mean the states have to make it legal also. Alcohol is a good example. Oklahoma didn't lift alcohol prohibition until 1959. As a kid I remember my dad having a still underneath the kitchen sink in our Oklahoma home.

But the feds always win in the end anyway. Anytime a state does something or doesn't do something the federal government wants them to do or not do, they will generally get their way because they threaten to withhold federal money if the state doesn't comply.

Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris Admits to Past Marijuana Use

Good. It is very common, especially among younger people. It was common when I was young and I am quite a bit older than her. I know people older than myself who still smoke it, a lifelong practice.

I appreciate the honesty.

This is not an issue. Momentum is building to legalize it nationwide, and three quarters of the public is in favor of legalization. There is a bill to do so in Congress at the moment.

Just for the record, this coming October 14th will mark the 50th anniversary of my first joint. It didn't kill me, nor did the semi load that followed it.

I wonder how many poor people Harris fined and locked up for MJ when she was a govt prosecutor?

Might as well be Jeff Session on that platform.
