A prime example of why it's time to tax churches or at least churches that get involved in politics. I live in Oklahoma where the same laws were on the books until last year because of the influence of the Southern Baptist church. Why should a religious institution be able to enforce their rules on others including those who don't follow their religion?

this is an ignorant post....the Mormon Church is opposing a bill in Utah. They have a constitutional right of free speech to say what they think of a bill. It's up to the Utah legislature to vote yes or no on it and face the voters.

If you don't like Utah laws then you have 49 states to live in. The beer they sell here in Utah is fine with me. If I want it stronger with more alcohol there are ways to make it stronger....or just go to the border of Nevada, Wyoming or Arizona and get your kind of beer by the case and bring it back to your home.

what's the problem?

Ok, my bad, I didn't realize it applies only to grocery/convenience stores.

And good for Colorado, the beer in the grocery stores was really, not good..

When you found the solution did you click on my clip again to make it official?

That's how the State decides such things...with much pomp and circumstance.

3.2 was a Prohibition leftover that was the law in many states into the 1970s or later.

It wasn't until wine popularity increased that states began raising the limit on beer.

The title is somewhat wrong in that it's not the LDS church but the members of that church that do the voting/electing of the state's representatives.
Since they have the numbers...………………...

This thread is prime example of rolling my eyes every time I see a new thread from this particular OP.

You hate the Christian (or in this case a derivative) church.

You have family in OK? If not, for heavens sake LEAVE. OK is a TERRIBLE fit for you. Im thinking CO which is not too far away might be a great fit. Liberal but not as liberal as CA. Run better than CA. scenic. A more western/ libertarian version of conservative vs the southern baptist version of conservative.

The problem with such "States' rights" reasoning, is that many people relocate from state to state according to their employers' directives. We find ourselves living in places which we absolutely detest, for career-reasons. Were the US to have been a unitary nation, with absolutely no state/local authority and all power vested in the national government, then such local abuses would not happen.

Doesn't matter. Still tastes like crap. Some of us actually like to drink beer for the taste.

Um, then they'd just have national abuses. For example, legal pot now in a number of states would be gone under your improvement plan.
