In the linked article, it links to a CBS 13 Sacramento article from 2/15/2019 called "Man Facing Hate Crime Charge After Throwing Hot Coffee, Punching Sikh 7-Eleven Clerk". In the CBS 13 article, it said:

Officers say Crain stated he “hated Muslims” and attacked the clerk because he believed he’s Muslim. CBS13 has confirmed the clerk is Sikh.
OK, so this was a hate crime intended for a Muslim, not a Sikh.

If this attack was premeditated, Mr. Crain was definitely not SEEKING to attack someone who was a SIKH.
Right - because, being a conservative, he was too ignorant to know the difference between one furriner and another. It's allasame to him.
