Beto says he would absolutely take the wall in El Paso that has protected that city from the war zone next door.

Looks like with their new leftist liberal President that the crime levels just keep rising in Mexico.

Seems like Central America and Mexico is basically falling apart. Maybe all these successful American dreamers who never went through the legal process should go back and help their country.

I can only imagine how many illegal aliens would be flooding in if Hillary Clinton were President and the Democrats controlled the country.

They would be flooding in with Hillary, President Trump is really doing just an exceptional job despite liberal politicians in robes obstructing him from keeping America safe.

The results of the big, beautiful walls speak for themselves.

1,247 homicides in Juarez
23 homicides in El Paso

2,518 homicides in Tijuana
34 homicides in San Diego

That is ok because soon the crime stats will be going down in Mexico but up in America...

I wonder if that is what the Left secretly wants so they can somehow blame Trump for a rise in murders?

There are 170,000 illegal residents in San Diego County, 1 of every 20 residents. And yet it was the safest city in the United States of the 30 most populous.

So: wall does next to nothing and having all those immigrants in doesn't cause murder and mayhem. Try again.

San Diego's secret is that it has lots of high crime suburbs with lots of illegal aliens. National City, Imperial Beach, Escondido, Vista, Lemon Grove have tremendous amounts of illegal aliens and large sections of each of those cities is like living in the third-world with high-crime.

San Diego is odd because many of it's suburbs are far higher crime than the city itself and most of those suburbs with lots of crime are filled with illegal aliens.

I would suspect that the percentage of criminals and murderers that say arrive in a caravan of "migrants" is about the same as the percentage from a cross section of Americans BUT I think when you are a victim at the hands of someone that is illegally in the country adds insult to injury.

There are a lot of "Angel Parents" out there that wished that our immigration laws had been enforced.

Um, you're talking to somebody who lives in San Diego. There is not high crime there. San Diego County is safer than San Diego City proper: in 2016, San Diego city (1.4 million) had 49 murders; San Diego County (1.9 million outside of the city itself) had 51 murders.

Some criminologists believe that immigration lowers murder rates, which is why San Diego has been the safest big city in the country for seven years running:

Quote:
With San Diego’s homicide rate of 2.4 killings per 100,000 residents, none of the 10 most-populous U.S. cities are safer when it comes to homicide.

Why is that? It’s a question that has confounded local leaders for years.

One criminologist, after studying homicide trends in San Diego for three decades, found the city’s large immigrant population may play a role.

In a research paper published in the Journal of Quantitative Criminology in March 2016, professor Ramiro Martinez and two other criminologists explored what affect the region’s increasing immigrant population had on homicide totals.

They found that between 1970 and 2010, the neighborhoods that saw increases in foreign-born residents also tended to be less violent. They also found that although immigration was increasing exponentially during this time, it was not associated with an increase in homicide.

Martinez theorized that certain immigrant characteristics acted as a sort of buffer against homicide.

For example, many immigrants tend to arrive with families that include children and grandparents who go on to live in the same house. They found homicides were decreasing in neighborhoods with that family composition.

“Intact family structure plays a role in decreasing crime by adding more adults to each household, increasing income, and providing more control over youths,” Martinez said. “This increased supervision at home and in the neighborhood.”

And while many immigrants are poor, they’re also working — sometimes several jobs — decreasing the likelihood they’ll be involved in homicide.

I agree with that - - it feels like it could be more avoided. Just like when a guy who was a known felon and shouldn't have guns kills somebody with a gun.

Trying to claim Mexico is liberal is like trying to claim that Trump is a billionaire.

Both only exists in the right-wing's imagination.

I am surprised the OP didn't compare Mexico with North Dakota. I have to give him credit for changing it up a bit.

Don't they have very strict gun control laws in Mexico? Surely there must be an error in how they arrived at these numbers... Lefties claim that if we enacted sissy nanny gun control laws, it will be peace on earth. Surely lefties don't jest...
