All Bernie is doing (like Warren etc.) is trying to grasp for minority votes, something that Bernie did poorly with in 2016 after being successfully and divisively labeled as racist by Hillary's campaign.
So, you'll see Bernie doing\saying\attending everything he can to show he's down with minorities fo shizzle and all that.
After the primary then the narratives will change and they can go back to forgetting about them.
