Finally, someone is addressing the racial injustice among knitters.

It's stuff like this that makes me glad that I only crochet. I always suspected knitters of having a secret agenda, and your link proves that I was right.

1 knitter expressed an opinion and media picked it up.

I'm seeing a pattern to all this (K)nitpicking. Looks like it's mostly a bunch of yarns and maybe just useless needling. I do know snitches get stitches but don't want to wale too much and get caught in a loop on the subject.

I'm gonna take a shot at this for real.

Once again, Instagram is the culprit. If people are really interested in the craft of knitting, just knit. You don't have to Insta-ho everything you do.

But, It's like anything trendy today, starts off innocent enough then gets gentrified, becomes expensive and corporatized, leaves out many outliers. (There's cool knitting and uncool knitting you see). POC should realize when this happens it is not just they who are marginalized, it is anyone who doesn't fit in the particular bubble that is created.

I don't agree with the way it is being approached here, PC verbiage, but I understand the feeling. It is like anything that gentrifies or hipsterizes. When that happens who is at the center of it and who gets pushed aside. It is mostly well off young white people dominating in and benefitting from trends and we all know it. Of course there is always a token approved POC invited to the party who doesn't rock the boat.

What about the multi-craftual? I spin, knit, crochet, dye, with a side of weaving and needlefelting. My agenda is to cover the world in wool.

Knitting Knazis. I've heard some disturbing rumors about them.
