Who is going to be running against Trump in the Republican race? If they had a choice, most Republicans would not vote for Trump again.

Getting Trump off the ballot would solve a lot of problems for the GOP. If he starts losing primaries in red states, his candidacy would be in real trouble.

LMAO!!!! ........Stay off the crack pipe. Trump is strong with the base and nobody is going to take the nomination from him. The anti-Trumps in the party tried in 2016 when Trump was just an unknown candidate and failed and now they have a weaker voice trying to go against a sitting President who is popular with the base of the party? LOL...yeah good luck and wishful thinking.

The only party that it benefits if they take the nomination from Trump is the Democrat Party because it will create a big divide within the base and guaranteed a victory for the Dems in 2020. Let the DEMS have their circus primary and civil war and whoever gets out there alive will take on Trump and Trump will have the advantage because he is the sitting President.......why would the GOP give up that advantage! that's like an NFL team giving up the home-field advantage in the playoffs

The Trump "base" is less than a third of Republicans. Given a viable candidate running against him, that "base" might be much smaller.

Lightbulb Republican Presidential Primaries

It's possible tRump could draw a primary challenger.

But unless he's shown to be deeply implicated in serious criminal conduct, his support from Pub hypocrites will make it no contest.

Trumplings are very compliant followers.

None of them. Trump merged his campaign group and the RNC late last year.

He basically now owns the party. This is one of the reasons so many Republicans defend him I think. And....its a horrible thing for a Democracy like ours.

name the candidate that can take Trump on immigration, judges, late-term abortion and taxes and fight the Democrats that the base will dump Trump and go with that candidate...name 1.

and has the money and backing to last and battle a 50 state primary to take on a sitting President.....not even Reagan who was a popular governor could do that in 1976 against Ford and Ford didn't win any primary or election to be there. Trump has.

It is likely that Kaisch will do another run for the presidency, particularly since he has some leftover campaign money from 2016. After 3 years of Trump, Kaisch may rip him a new one. So far, Weld is the only one who has formally declared his candidacy. He's a virtual unknown outside of Massachusetts, but might appeal to solid conservatives.

or it might not be....again with the weasel words.

Its clear you are trying to spread some negativity up in here. The Dems should be more concerned with running someone who actually has a chance to beat him.

you mean like Bill Clinton did in 1996 and Obama did 2012? .........Democrats learned from 1980, that if you challenge a sitting President within the party that the chances of winning in the general are small...........why do you think Bill didn't get a challenge in 1996 and Obama in 2012?

Do you think Republicans want Bernie in the W.H. instead of Trump putting judges on the bench? LOL

You don't primary the incumbent president. It just isn't done - by either party.
