“You look great,” said Don Marsh, the 80-year-old host of the radio show “St. Louis On the Air,” to recently retired St. Louis news anchor Karen Foss (75 years young) when she entered the studio for an interview. The two veteran journalists then went on to have this pleasant and collegial conversation aired by KWMU, National Public Radio’s St. Louis affiliate.
The next morning, Foss learned that Marsh, a St. Louis institution, was leaving St. Louis Pubic Radio. Why? Someone at the KWMU studio had overheard Marsh’s complimentary greeting to Foss, perceived it to be inappropriate, and tattled to the bosses. That’s right, a man telling a longtime friend whom he hadn’t seen in a while that she looked great was Not Okay.
Sounds like he got fed up with the young whipper snappers and quit. Can't say I blame him. Presumably he was in a position where he was just doing the job to keep himself busy and not keep food on the table though. Many people have no choice but to put up with that sort of nonsense.
Be careful what you say around PC fools who want everyone to live by a script while staying at arm's length and treating everyone as if they have a cold.
Sorry, a progressive world is a dark regressive world where a parent can't even hug their kids without getting into trouble.
This goes to the earlier thread of why people complain about millennials. Because they do stupid sh** like this. There is nothing wrong with compliments. Stop this stupidity!

Is it likely a millennial was a station manager? I can't keep with what generation name represents what age group? Any manager worth his alt would've just told the snitch Uh Huh and said nothing to the man who quit.
We get it--you hate women. Too bad you wouldn't have come into this world without one.
But as for the actual content, I wonder if there is much more to this than they're letting on. Unfortunately, I figure we'll never know. I wonder if they had other reasons that they wanted to get rid of the guy and they used this as a way to force him to resign. I've seen that happen all too often.
Likely the station was looking for an excuse to bounce the 80yo. worker without getting slapped for age discrimination.
