The CDC reports suicides where a firearm was used.
The CDC also reports accidents/acts of negligence with a firearm.

The last report by the CDC, National Vital Statistics Report-Out of the top 100 ranked causes of death, firearms didn't make the top 100.
Accidents/acts of negligence a total of 461. For the entire nation.
Suicides took the lead. 23k cases of suicide.
Homicides-11k.

Inanimate objects being relative-Car accident fatalities-35k
Your chances of dying in the street are far higher from an automobile than a firearm.
Yet no calls to ban limit, restrict, regulate based on the 10s of thousands of deaths each year.

Proof?

Stop with CNN and everytown talking points.

We don't take the lead for firearm related deaths in the world. That would be Mexico, Brazil, and Russia in a 3 way tie.

Guess what?

We license and regulate cars and drivers. And the type of vehicle they can drive. You know, basic license, you get to drive a car. Want to drive a semi? You need more training and a higher license. Makes sense, right?

Now, I can get into showing different realities on gun deaths. But let's just compare the USA to what Trump calls, you know, those ****hole countries.

Wonder how it compares to Mexico on a per capita basis. OH... wait, barely, just barely, better. Darn those ****hole countries.

Truly. My home state of NV has been over run in state government and their wasting no time going after gun rights and self defense laws protecting honest citizens. If we here in the Northern part of the state cannot put an effective resistance together we will look just like CA in short order. Unfortunately Vega has the numbers on us.

Local governments here in the North will likely be extremely resistant to enforcing laws being proposed by the Democrats in the legislature and by the new governor especially here in the capitol and also in Reno and localities in the Northern counties. But even combining Reno/Sparks, Carson City and Elko, the largest urban centers in the North and all the "cow towns, like Yerington and Fallon we still see ourselves outnumbered by Vegas Metro and Clark county as a whole.

These CA type Democrats are a virulent infectious virus. And they are spreading out of CA across the entire West. These Democrat proposed bills like SB254 are a serious threat to law abiding people and protect criminals. And they're trying to sneak them through keeping folks , especially in here in the North, from knowing they are voting on them. Coyote in the hen house tactics.

Now they are spurred and using the NZ shootings and the new laws enacted there as a platform. Our firearms rights ad our right to self defense are in serious danger.

And amazing how strict those countries gun laws are, lol.

Knee jerk socialist reaction to use a tragedy to disarm the law abiding populace. They had this in the drawer like our Democrats do to pull it out after a tragic shooting and use people's emotions to illegally take away their natural right of self defense with a COMMON USE firearm. Sadly, the people of NZ have no 2A.

Big difference when the bulk of ours are suicides. Not homicides. Go ahead and pull the homicides for those countries vs suicides.

In terms of rates we come in way low. 326 million with 10,982 homicides committed with a firearm for 2017.
The bulk of which were not from mass shootings either. Rather the bulk/ volume contained to a few cities across America.

Chicago.
Los Angeles.
Houston
Baltimore
Etc.

So, what do you propose to stop the gun deaths in the USA?

Canada, Sweden, Finland, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, even Germany and Poland, as well as Romania all have strong hunting cultures.

All have some type of control as to at least WHO buys a gun, as well as constraints on some type of guns, usually those with large magazines capable of rapid fire. And especially of handguns.

They have far less gun violence that the USA has. You know, a first world nation.

What is YOUR solution.

Firearms death statistics also include ALL deaths. Self defense shootings, LE shootings and accidents. The numbers are seriously skewed.

Not really if you consider 20th century history. Russia, Poland, Romania, and parts of Germany were all under the control of murderous, totalitarian regimes when I was a child not very long ago. Allowing the government a monopoly on force has always resulted in more deaths in the long run.
