Most of us have no idea what Marmite is. Would it be good with Grits?

It's a savoury spread originally made from the yeast extract that was a by-product of the brewing industry and packed with umami flavour.
People either love it or hate it which is why the word Marmite is often used to describe people or things which attract diametrically opposite opinions.
There's an Australian version called Vegemite and another spreadable paste called Bovril.
I like it on toast for breakfast and have used it with peanut butter for years which is why this is such a brilliant idea.
