A fraternity at the University of Georgia has been suspended after members were seen using racial slurs in a video circulated on social media, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Yet about every hip-hop song has the same word...and they get applause, rewards, air time, etc, escaping form almost all criticism. Hell, was just out and the store was blasting West's "Gold Digger", lol.

Its just a word and only stupid people are offended by words.

You must not have watched the video. The context is different. Saying "Pick my cotton N-word" is different than repeating the N-word in a rap song.
I also get annoyed when black people say the N-word, and then get mad when others use it. But I still don't condone it when it is used in a racial way ("Pick my cotton N-word").

Not condoning it, but also not going to give one bit of care if someone says it. It is a word in which its "offensiveness" has pretty much been minimized to all but those who are professional victims.
Many words can have offensive meaning depending on context, not just this one.
