Why only 2 were dispatched to a rowdy gang of that number, I don't know, but the "youtz" were busy verbally abusing the responding officers, with a 13-year-old detained for hurling a rock at one of the officer's eye.
Of course, instead of getting off her fat asinine, the mayor, on the heels of getting a local weathercaster fired for flubbing MLK's name, was nowhere to be found. Instead of kowtowing to the Police Community Board and fomenting this divide, and letting the interim police chief to say what
she should have been saying, she should have been in front of every camera, ensuring the officers that she has their backs, and that melees such as this weekend's will not be tolerated.
And the kid who attacked the officer? He's not in "big trouble," as some have mistakenly speculated. After the usual posse of female relatives shows up to put on a dramatic show, he'll get a slap on the hand.
Sadly, whether it's a teacher or a cop at the receiving end of such abuse, the system is set up to protect these snot-nosed gangstas--from appropriate punishment and even identification.
