When does the President get down to the business of running the nation. In recent days he made a threat to choke off trade with Mexico without considering the economic consequences. Now he accuses Mueller and the FBI of attempting an illegal coup against his administration.
It needs to be remembered that this investigation was started with a republican leadership at the FBI, a republican house, and a republican senate.

First, the "Republican" leadership at the FBI hated Trump's guts so the fact that he was a Republican is irrelevant. Secondly, the fact that Republicans controlled both houses of Congress is also irrelevant when the White House has far, far more power to control a counter intelligence investigation than the House or Senate does.
It's interesting that Democrats are acting all outraged that an AG publically admits what has been well documented and obvious for well over a year now. Furthermore, the same Democrats who argued against the Republican led House oversight subpoenaing documents from the FBI/intelligence agencies investigation into Trump/Russian collusion as part of their oversight duties and defended the heavily redacted documents on the basis of protecting "sources and methods" now demand the Mueller report be released fully unredacted with zero regard for laws regarding the release of grand jury testimony or the "sources and methods" they were so worried about a year ago. Nevermind that Barr has repeatedly told them that as much of the report as can be legally released will be released in a matter or days. Nope, they want it NOW and fully unredacted!!! The law be damned! The hypocrisy displayed is stunning but predictable.
As for his statement being off the wall, it clearly isn't. The evidence that Trump's campaign was spied on is well documented by both congressional testimony and documents received. The info has been out there and available for over a year now but the MSM and Trump haters have will ignored it to this point. There is at the very least strong circumstantial evidence that the rules for legally obtaining a warrant to spy on Trump team members wasn't followed properly and that laws were broken in the process. Barr has every right to look into the matter to see if any federal laws were broken in the process.
Don't you just love the Leftists (like the OP). When their side is being alleged for wrongdoing, they want Trump to focus on other things but when they are doing the alleging (Russian collusion, Trump tax returns, etc.) they want all full and complete investigations into it.

This executive time that Trump claims is to watch Morning Joe and Saturday Night Live and then to tweet about it endlessly through the week.

When intelligence monitors a Russian agent, if there's an American on the other end of the line, that American becomes an incidental target or intercept. If anyone associated with a presidential campaign doesn't want to be an incidental target, then don't pal around with Russian agents or borrow millions from neo-mafia Russian oligarchs. Pretty simple, really.

There's been so much crap bandied about in the 2 years that it's hard to keep up but I'm pretty sure that Trump's "tapping" claims were investigated and proven to be false.
