Let's put it this way: The South has been the most conservative part of the county, going back to at least the Civil War. I don't know why this is in dispute. They were the most conservative part of the country 150 years ago, and they are the most conservative part of the country now. There is an abundance of reading on this topic you can peruse:
You are trying to argue that people in the south back in the day that supported FDR and similar leftwing politicians were actually conservatives.
You are so partisan you will argue the most absurd things.
If the GOP today was similar to Democrats back then, then we should be fiscal liberals who support segregation policies. Neither is the case.
The south flipped to Republican because of Republican transplants moving in as the south industrialized and modernized.
The south is 180 degrees different than it was back when Democrats had power here.
You can complain about high taxes, high prices, large numbers of homeless, illegal immigrants or whatever else you want about the blue states, but there are few indicators that are a better gauge of the well-being of the population than life expectancy. And in that category, blue states stand head-and-shoulders above the red states.
There are some red states in the Plains and Rocky Mountains that do pretty well, but they still aren't as good as the top 10 blue states.
So all those homeless people on the streets in San Fran and Los Angeles live longer than suburban middle class Republicans in Greenville SC?
This is such a silly premise because the negative stats in 'red states' are typically associated with Democratic voters or people who would vote Democrat if they bothered to vote.

You are so off it isn't funny.
Even parts of the South that had few, if any, transplants from up north turned republican. Furthermore, the switch has been so total and complete, that you would practically have to assume that, like, 60 or 70% of the population of the South these days consists of former Northerners or their descendants. There's no way that's the case, not even close.

You haven't explained why the GOP doesn't support fiscal leftwingers like FDR if there was a big switch.
You also can't point to any white racist policies that the GOP supports.
All of the south had people move in from other areas and younger generations of southerners were less likely to be racist.
WHat leftwingers like you do is accusd anybody who doesn't have your leftwing politics of racism because you can't actually defend your views on policy.
You can't articulate why San Fran is so dirty if leftwing ideas lead to utopia.

You're incorrectly assuming that suburban middle class people are your typical republican.
Probably those homeless people in LA and SF life about as long as the meth addicts in Kentucky.

Yeah right.
All the high crime areas are Democrat heavy voting.
You couldn't win an election with the poor voting for your party in droves. That's why you support illegal immigration b/c you know those poor immigrants will vote Democrat after you give them citizenship and obviously many of them are voting illegally now.
Your party has opposed welfare reform, supports high taxes and spending, but you act like poor people don't vote Democrat.
Actually, I *have* touched upon that in this thread.
I would also argue that the GOP isn't any more fiscally responsible than the democrats these days, so your point there is rather irrelevant.
I will give the GOP credit nowadays for not supporting segregation anymore. However, that's about it.
but you can't point to any racist policy but you make the accusation anyway because that's what leftists do. You are Jussie Smollet.
You guys talk a lot about social justice but just people don't make false accusations.
The reality is the GOP doesn't need racism to win in the south. The Democratic party did. GOP wins in the south on tax policy, energy policy, pro life, anti government run healthcare, gun rights and other issues that have nothing to do with race.
You make it sound like the Democratic party would win in the south if not for racism. You have sour grapes over the south not voting your way so you lie and say it is about racism.
You can't articulate why San Fran is so dirty if leftwing ideas lead to utopia.
You can't articulate why Boulder, Colorado is so clean if you think leftwing ideas lead to dystopia.
