I've been putting it off-I adjust my withholding so I always pay. I refuse to give the government an interest free loan all year long. Finally tackled income taxes yesterday. 2 great comments-it literally took about 5 minutes, since I didn't have to find receipts and deal with itemizing and was able to use the $24,000 standard deduction. And second-in spite of a higher income, I paid $1800 less than the previous year. Extra money in MY pocket, rather than the governments, is always a good thing. Nice to have a president that is looking out for working class people for a change.

Well, the vast majority of the country disagrees. Why am I surprised that you always tow the company lines?

"only around a third of the country approves of the legislation itself, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, passed by Congress at the end of 2017."

That means even Trump approval people don't approve (it's not 40%)....

But you approve. Glad to hear it.

Of course, that money is out of debt and deficit that our kids and grand-kids will have to pay off. Surely you know that?

Yeah, the 47% non-workers who pay no taxes are pizzed because the 53% of hard working Americans who do mostly got a nice tax cut and received the benefit. It could mean less free stuff for them.

How are they going to get their College loans paid off, free healthcare and Repatriations if you don't pay more in taxes ?

I look at the whole picture. I paid about $2000 more in taxes due to 1) the inability to deduct home equity interest and 2) the loss of the personal exemption. But....thanks to Trump's pro-business policies, the value my stock holdings have increased by 6 figures.

Thanks, Trump!

People are complaining their return is way smaller than past years.
First off, no more "Tax Credits"(free money) and second, less was withheld from employees checks every week. Less taken in, less you get back after the government keeps their cut to keep you safe.
Then, since the economy is roaring, people are making more money, so they owe more when the "Progressive" Tax is calculated.

Living last year in a high tax area was painful on this year’s tax return - part of the reason we’ve now moved to a lower tax state. And, yeah, the greater income as a result of the improved economy resulted in large enough extra taxes to an angry bite out of that joy.

The 47% who don’t pay taxes are complaining that they didn’t get a bigger pie.

The rest of the idiots are complaining about their tax RETURN was lower.

And there’s you.

You still had money stolen from you. It's like getting in a terrible car crash and losing both legs and one arm, but keeping the other arm.

Why should you have to pay ANY taxes?
