AG Barr said in his previous public testimony before the House Judiciary Committee that he is fine with Mueller testifying. In fact, if anyone stands in the way of Mueller testifying, it will be the Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee. Watch and see.
Well, with a lot of things about the Trump administration they can be fine with it until they're not. Two things to keep in mind is Barr is not the one whose looking a obstruction charges (yet). Second, the dynamics of what Trump expects from Barr could change quickly if he thinks Mueller's testimony could hurt him. Again, it's fine until it's not.
The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this Office's work and conclusions.
We communicated that concern to the Department on the morning of March 25....
...there is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation.
Donald Trump, his aides, and Congressional republicans are terrified of Don McGhan testifying.
When asked directly whether he opposed Don McGhan testifying before Congress, Barr pretended that he didn't care, but left it wide open saying that Trump will be able to decide if he wants to claim executive privelege or not.
But seeing as how Trump says he's done nothing wrong and that the Mueller report completely exonerated him, I'm sure Donald will have no objection to McGhan testifying.
Trump quite righty says, "enough is enough, we have a country to run."
Trump could have just as easily said, we have to continue to keep the democrats from running the country into a ditch.

More likely the D’s are afraid that Barr may expose and prosecute the attempted coup. Waving their arms, kicking up dust and condemning Barr is todays shiney object.

Overstating much? If you want to see what a coup looks like, take a look at Venezuela. That's a coup.
"If the President is being falsely accused, which the evidence now suggests the accusations against him were false and he knew they were false, and he felt that this investigation was unfair, propelled by his political opponents and was hampering his ability to government. That is not a corrupt motive for replacing an independent counsel," Barr said.

I bet you didn't say that when Starr went down every rabbit hole to lead the Republicans to impeach Bill Clinton. Am I right?
