Tariffs will not impact the Walmart and other big box consumers as much as it will, small business consumers selling similar products. Big box has the advantage of volume.

I wonder how much more blood can be extracted by those already squeezed supplier cost structures. More layoffs? Lesser quality? Perhaps purchasing from markets that exploit their workers more than the next third-world competitor? It sure won't be buying containers full of toasters made in South Bend, Indiana unless of course Walmart believes there are enough customers that support Trump's tariff fiasco to plunk down two Benjamin's to burn their morning toast.
It takes YEARS to build and create manufacturing jobs in this country. You don't just slap an open sign on an empty warehouse and start making things.
Yes you can, and they are around here and doing so in droves, I plan to open my furniture making facility around 1 June. I know of at least 20 hobby furniture makers, who after tariffs hit, found it made economic sense to expand, mostly with a good middle class line up, finally.
The US is not in any position to put pressure on China...remember how much US debt China owns!
