Tariffs don't create that. It means it will be made in Thailand.

It doesn't take into account though, that if that household spends $2,200 more and have options for US, Japanese, or items of more quality origin, that they will last longer and cost less in the long term.
What makes you think this is going to happen? Neither the US nor Japan has a labor force large enough to increase manufacturing beyond its current level - not to mention the costs of investment in a "temporary pain" environment that will go away on a Trump tweet. All you will do is pay more for the same junk from China or from another country in Asia or Africa. There is no win in this for middle class consumers. Big global businesses might benefit in the long term. We will just pay more for less. Wake up!

It was all fun and games until it hits WallyWorld. Shake it off, you can cover the added costs with all that cash you're saving from Trump's tax cuts, right? Right?
I thought taxing corporations was GOOD, according to liberals. That we needed more revenue to keep the deficit in check. I'm so confused!

You are well aware that we were perfectly fine before we shipped millions of food paying jobs to China and Mexico, right?

Yes, we paid a few bucks more for a hair dryer in 1985. But high schoolers started at $20/he in the local factory rather than at $8/hour in the local Walmart.

Tariffs aren't a tax on corporations. They are a tax on consumers.

Yes we (they) do. Much of the lower ends jobs are being automated. Those people will still need jobs. With that said, Tariff's don't address that issue.
