Congressman Justin Amash (R-MI) unloads on Trump and Barr.

Quote:
Here are my principal conclusions:
1. Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Mueller’s report.
2. President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.
3. Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances.
4. Few members of Congress have read the report.

He concludes: “America’s institutions depend on officials to uphold both the rules and spirit of our constitutional system even when to do so is personally inconvenient or yields a politically unfavorable outcome. Our Constitution is brilliant and awesome; it deserves a government to match it.”
Not sure if Amash has been in the Never-Trump faction, but those are some harsh comments.

Like Romney, he can safely criticize Trump because his state’s electorate are generally rational people.

Amash’s colleagues like Louie Gohmert or Steve Scalise couldn’t say this and get re-elected for obvious reasons....even if they agreed with Amash 100%.

This is why people don't trust the republican party.

They work to hard to elect democrats.

The Trump party is replacing them and embracing winning !!!

That's precisely why we need a realignment of the parties:

1) Trump Party
2) Centrist, outward-looking alliance of mainstream Republicans and Democrats
3) Socialist Party

I’m not sure that most people would take that as a positive.

This is no surprise and isn’t some magical epiphany where some former wayward soul finally saw the light.

The One House Republican Who Can’t Stop Criticizing Donald Trump

from the article
“I ran on a set of principles, and it doesn’t really matter which party is in charge or who the president is; I’m going to stick by my principles,” he told HuffPost."

Another tweet from Amash -
"The same congressional Republicans who joined me in blasting Pres. Obama’s executive overreach now cry out for a king to usurp legislative powers. If your faithfulness to the Constitution depends on which party controls the White House, then you are not faithful to it."

"Brian Ellis, who lost to Amash 57 percent to 43 percent in Tuesday's primary, called to concede and congratulate the victor. But Amash rejected the call, lambasting Ellis for running "a ridiculous, despicable smear campaign."

In his victory speech, Amash called on Ellis to apologize:
"You owe my family and this community an apology for your disgusting, despicable smear campaign. You had the audacity to try and call me today after running a campaign that was called the nastiest in the country. I ran for office to stop people like you. To stop people who were more interested in themselves than in doing what's best for their district. Everyday Americans are taking back their government from the crooks and the cronies. They are taking back their government from the political class elites."

He also mocked former Republican House Rep. Pete Hoekstra, who backed Ellis:

"You are a disgrace. And I'm glad we could hand you one more loss before you fade into total obscurity and irrelevance."

lol Don't mess with Amash. He has no problem with the truth and pointing out the hypocrites that both sides love. One of the few in Congress with integrity.

Only harsh if some dolt finds the truth offensive.
