OP do you have a problem with an American saying they are Christian instead of American?
You do realize that Americans can follow any religion they'd like right?
And FWIW I'm an atheist and don't particular like any religion but I do feel people have the right to follow their chosen faith if they so choose and as long as they are not infringing upon the rights of others by doing so.
So you are ok with public school indoctrinating children in Islamic religion?

You must not know any evangelical Christians. I know Christians who deem themselves Christians above anything else.
I don't want any indoctrination in any public schools of any religion. And I view Islam just as negatively as Christianity. Someone else mentioned people would get mad about Judaism, but I actually like Judaism because it as a religion encourages critical thought/thinking skills and questioning unlike Christianity and especially unlike Islam.
FYI - this video is from 1989 - I was 10 years old and in the 4th-5th grade. I never was converted to Islam lol. Not even sure why this was posted when it is 30 years old....
And FWIW I actually do know Christians who want Christianity indoctrinated in children in public schools. Many of them actually do work for my local public school system and are upset they cannot pray with the children and teach them about Jesus.

Kids can pray in school. Whether Christian, Jewish or Muslim. The school, however, cannot initiate it. They cannot initiate Muslim prayer, Christian prayer, Jewish prayer, or any other prayer. And if they did, then, yes, the liberal left would protest.
How about we just keep ALL religious teachings out of public schools? Discuss religion in the context of history, but "not this one is right this one is wrong".
