Republicans fought against slavery. Forcing other people to to pay for your needs is the very definition of slavery.

Nobody, not one Republican is against voluntary funding to help the poor. If you can, name one.

In Tennessee the republicans cancelled health care for 60,000 children. Every night the news is begging for donations for food banks. Tennessee teachers are providing lunches for school children during the summer recess. Where is that great republican generosity? With a republican president we still have about 40,000 homeless vets. Republicans are for healthcare for those who can afford the insurance but for the majority of working folks...well, tough luck.

Republicans are real would be glad to help the needy, that is, as soon as they can find change for a penny.

Before you ask where the Republicans are, you must ask yourself where you are.

If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

should have had a neither option.

Neither party helps anyone but themselves. Now individuals on the other hand are another story.

The question could have been who helps more Liberals or Conservatives. That would be a really good debate as I think both help. Who helps more? Does it matter as long as people are trying to help?

Asking based upon party is senseless as both parties are 2 heads upon the same vile beast.

Still it is voluntary.

He didn’t say “Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many gunshots.”

If anyone is poor among your fellow Israelites in any of the towns of the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward them. Rather, be openhanded and freely lend them whatever they need.

Give generously to [the poor] and do so without a grudging heart, then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.
