And here we face the curious and disturbing reality that a sitting President can face a legal investigation showing criminal activity and yet will not face a court of law to determine guilt or innocence. No other person in this country enjoys such immunity. The President of the United States enjoys unlimited privilege like a medieval king or despot and is above the law that all other Americans are subject to.
Exactly. Barr is just another Trump sycophant. Mueller said he is unable to make a determination regarding Trump's innocence OR guilt.

Investigators don't determine guilt or innocence. That is part of the point. I wish I could find the op ed by Comey on the position that Mueller was in upon being at risk of firing; whether to indict, CAN he indict, what happens to evidence if fired... It was interesting.

We badly need a constitutional amendment that says something to the effect: "The president shall not be immune from prosecution of any crime that would be prosecuted of an ordinary citizen."
Firstly, Barr and former Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein came to such a legal conclusion on their own. The fact that Mueller felt that he couldn't make a determination one way or the other doesn't foreclose the authority of other justice department officials from making such a determination.
Secondly, Mueller is an unethical fool. And, yes, it violates legal ethnics to do what he is doing. You are presumed innocent under law unless convicted of a crime. You do not attempt to drag someone's name under the rug when you don't even have enough evidence to recommend an indictment one way or the other. Yes, I get that Mueller also felt that he could not charge POTUS with a crime even if he wanted to, but the point here is that he couldn't even conclude whether he thought obstructed occurred one way or the other.
Mueller is the one with ethics. Barr has none.
Mueller made it very clear that barring the DOJ policy of not indicting a president was the reason for not indicting him. Barr said the exact opposite in his report. He flat-out lied. This was not spin. Barr should be removed. He is not Trump's consigliere--he works for the country.
Actually he found insufficient evidence of obstruction, but don’t let that stop you.
A link to the transcript of Mueller's statement is available. Can you quote the portion that says that?
