Debate Rules

Quote:
Politicians tend to be long-winded, but brevity will be the name of the game on the crowded stage in the first Democratic presidential debate in Miami on Wednesday and Thursday.
And for fun:

The Drink Cues

General Words

Drink when YOUR candidate say any of these

  • Jobs
  • Middleclass
  • Women
  • Iran
  • Border
  • Healthcare
  • Environment
  • Education
  • Guns

Bonus Words

EVERYONE drinks when ANY candidates says one of these
  • Trump
  • Percent
  • *Anything in Spanish*

This one just might be more fun!
  • De Blasio references President Donald Trump as "Con Don."
  • A moderator or candidate refers to O’Rourke as Robert (his actual first name).
  • A candidate dances around whether they're in favor of impeaching Trump.
  • Warren says, "I have a plan for that."
  • A candidate says a progressive stance is not socialism.
  • De Blasio starts a response with "listen."

How much time will each of them get on average? Maybe 6-7 minutes?

Let the infomercials begin.

Candidates will have 60 seconds to answer questions and 30 seconds to respond to follow-ups. And there will be no opening statements, though candidates will have a chance to deliver closing remarks.

watching on-line on NBC via youtube, I keep getting 'an error occurred,' and then bounced back to an advertisement. I've seen at least 4 ads so far. I usually don't have problems of this kind with my service.

Ah, well, I don't put much stock in debates anyway. The winner often is a function of style, not substance. With so many people on stage, this one can be expected to be a full-blown clown show. I already know whom I support (at least for now) and that is Warren. If one of the moderates (Castro, Bennet, Hickenlooper, Sestak) improves in polls, I may switch.
