Jim Crow has been over since the 50s. For over 60 years institutionalized racism has been illegal. We have debated before and we disagree on everything regarding this issue but I stand by my belief that black people do not have a legitimate beef in our society. They have the same opportunities that anyone else does. I also believe that they do not have the right to force the rest of America to white wash its history and culture to satisfy their insecurities and beefs against it. Robert E Lee, confederate flags and “old white men” are part of our history. America was founded by whites people and it is an Anglo centric nation. Black people do not have the right to demand that be changed and we have the right to fight to preserve our heritage and history. Black people however are invited to enjoy and contribute to what this country is all about. It seems however that is not something that many of them are interested in. Many of them have joined a coalition of white leftists who wish to remake our nation into a SJW model of a socialist state. I will oppose those efforts with every fiber of my being. I firmly believe this divide in our nation has us on the path to a civil war that will be every bit as nasty as the last one. If this is what must happen to preserve our freedom and culture then so be it.

Jim Crow might be over, but things like discrimination still take place. I stand by my reality that Black Americans have legitimate reasons to be peeved about the way things are. Some things have changed for the better, other things have not.
And what I'm about to say, well, I stand by it no matter what. I think that the Confederate generals that have been lionized should have been tried for treason, found guilty, and summarily executed. Period. I HATE Confederates. And I make no apologies for feeling the way I do. And yes, I want all things named for Confederates to be renamed, period. I'm not changing my mind on that at all. Nothing you can do. Confederate "heritage" should have never been celebrated and doesn't deserve celebration. People who only wanted to war against America because they wanted to keep slavery so badly.
And you know what? Black people have contributed to this country, and fought for this country. In some cases, died for this country. For a long time, it was done under duress and without appreciation. This is why many Blacks started joining White leftists. Lack of faith in conservatives. Until that is addressed, there will be Blacks joining up with White leftists. Blacks will ally with whomever they think is on their side. So far, that isn't conservatives at the moment.

I know about Liberty Place Monument. I also remember when they removed the Robert E. Lee statue from there. I watched it on Twitter. I was one very happy man when they removed it. I cheered. Robert E. Lee doesn't deserve ANY respect or admiration. Neither does any other Confederate general. You remember history, but you only lionize those who deserve the accolades. Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, Jefferson Davis, they do not deserve any praise or honor.

They deserve to be remembered, and people like you should just be able to ignore things you don't like instead of removing them so NOBODY can see them. It shows a lack of maturity and depth.

It was a tribute to those who fought to re-establish the bigoted social hierarchy that had served slave owners very well during antebellum days. Remembering is not the same as honoring. People who don't deserve to be honored should not be honored. That is why statues like those of Lee and Jefferson Davis should be taken down. Put them in museums to remember "we used to honor those who didn't deserve to be honored". They don't deserve any public accolades. Call me immature all you want. I'm not changing me position.
