I give Trump credit for trying something new to solve one of the world's intractable political and military problems. It's clear that sanctions (Obama and Bush II) and food aid (Bill Clinton) didn't work. I wish Trump luck, especially since they have a nukes and missiles to send them at least to Japane. The resolution is a long way off, but Trump is trying. Huge turnaround in mood at least since "rocket man" was firing obliquely at South Korea and over Japan.
The difference is that at the time, KJU and NK was still adversarial towards the U.S. He has since warmed up to the U.S. (and others including South Korea) all thanks to Trump. When this happens, you engage in talks with him in hopes of creating peace and better relations or are you still for rockets sent over Japan and threats of nuclear war?
This is far from disgusting as you've put it. This is actually a miracle considering how bitter our two countries had been for decades. Trump should get 1000 Nobel Peace prizes for doing something that no one else were able to do and that seemed almost impossible just two years ago.
