Ross Perot, self-made billionaire, renowned patriot and two-time independent candidate for U.S. president, has died after a five-month battle with leukemia.
Perot's thoughts guided my sales career. When I became sales manager I had all the salesmen wear a pin that read, "Real Salesmen Don't Play Golf" to honor his teachings.
I didn't pay as much attention to politics back in those days, especially 92. I do recall Perot being an odd little man with an odd demeanor and spoke and carried himself in a sort of funny way.
He made it to 89, good long run, hopefully his last years were good for him and his family.
The fact that the Republican party did not take the lesson of Perot's candidacy to heart for 24 years shows how tone deaf they are. They were willing to sell the country piece by piece for a few pieces of silver in the name of globalization, and of course personal profit.
