So this article seems to be about a church discriminating against this gay person and refusing to let him attend his father's funeral because of his homosexuality.
But the liberal national sources don't quote this guy completely.
er the family's request, Goodman's father will not be named in this story. "They're punishing my dad for a lifestyle choice I've made. Its not me up there in a casket. It's him," said Goodman.
Goodman's 71-year-old father has very few dying wishes.
And by the way, this is religious freedom and the church has EVERY right to do this because its against their theology. This is actually what separation of church and state is really about as our founding fathers envisioned it. The government can't interfere in the practice of religion or church doctrine. It can't make a church or denomination accept the gay lifestyle or abortion for example.
I thought that among liberals its taboo to claim that being gay is a choice? So gayness isn't an innate quality that can't be discriminated against?
What does it matter in this case? That’s not even the issue. Who gives a damn whether the guy is congenitally gay or not?
The point is that this Christian Church is denying a dying man a funeral because they don’t want his gay son to attend. Discuss that petty ****....not whether or not his son was born gay.
The guy doesn’t want to join their church. He just wants to attend his father’s funeral. Christianity is so intransigent in its doctrine and Christians are so flimsy in their beliefs that allowing a gay dude in the church for a few hours is gonna destroy everything the church stands for? Believing in the Christian Faith is THAT tenuous?
No wonder Americans are becoming more and more secular, and many churches sit empty. I hope that trend continues.

There are bad threads. There are dumb threads. This? Oooh boy... in a league of its own.

In a religious sense, one is never cured of sin, "choice" or not.
So life style choice has more to do with the act, than the feeling.
Not sure why it would matter to you either way though.
