Sure, socialism has caused more wars and killed far more people, but fascism had a short, yet brutal history. Are they equally disgusting ideologies with no place in American society, or is one more evil than the other?

Two of the most confused terms in history. Fascism can lie anywhere across the spectrum. For example, socialists can be facsist, as they were in the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany, or fascism can take a more conservative, traditionalist form as in Franco's Spain.

The primary similarity is that all fascism is the antithesis to 'liberalism' in the classical sense. Whereas fascism relies on the belief in the state, the central government and the wish to control others, classical liberalism, of which the modern GOP is the legitimate heir, relies on the primary of individual freedom.

All statisms are evil.

Statism is just a fancy name for slavery. Communism, fascism, socialism and Nazism are all the same old tried and true slavery.
