I'm not bothered by the individual heated murders between friends and family--they'll use whatever is on hand. That's their business.
I'm worried about those nutjobs who want to murder strangers. In a movie theater, mall, school, church. Public places where any innocent person can be shot for no reason. How many public mass murders are committed with hammers or clubs?
So do you think criminals and crazies won't be able to get guns?
I don't know. Maybe your house has huge hallways and a hidden escape chute and/or a panic room that perhaps your loved one can get to. And maybe she's way faster than a crazed guy with a hammer. My missus will put holes in that person until they stop moving and I'm OK with that. You have your strategy. I have mine.
I think we're at crossed purposes. I don't support the banning of any guns. I think there should be a reasonable level of control on handguns, as they serve zero purpose other than killing people. Those that are cleared and trained should have full access to whatever their desire and budget allows.
I only have issues when data is manipulated to tell a narrative that isn't true.

I agree with you on the data issue. Let the raw data tell the truth whatever that truth is. However, people who have an agenda won't let that happen.
You cared enough to post that chart when you thought it was making your case though.
I posted the FBI chart because someone questioned the source in o.p. Im not making a case, I truely dont care what the stats are and arguing over them is a trap.
There shouldnt be one gun law on the books.
Wikipedia: "The rate of firearm deaths per 100,000 people rose from 10.3 per 100,000 in 1999 to 12 per 100,000 in 2017, with 109 people dying per day." "Compared to other high income nations, the U.S. gun related murder rate is 25 time higher although it has half the population of the other 22 nations combined."
So if we had 100 plus people dying per day in a plane crash would we sit on our hands and say oh well? Really?
