Walmart is cutting hours and employees. They are one of the biggest employers in the US.

The real problem is that there's a shortage of a permanent class of low-skilled workers in the U.S.
Around the turn of the 20th century, immigrants from poorer places in Europe were filling that void. But their children assimilated, and no longer were part of a permanent low-skilled worker class by the 1950s or so. Due to racism and segregation, black people (and Hispanic and Asian people to a certain extent, although there were less of them present) could also fill the void of a permanent underclass, but that fortunately doesn't happen anymore. Poor white people from areas such as Appalachia could also fill that void.
So the only people who can be part of a permanent underclass are those who don't have any other options. That pretty much leaves felons and undocumented immigrants. Low-skilled workers of other sorts can improve their positions from working in a chicken processing plant if they so choose.

Illegals took over many of those jobs leaving them without means of steady employment.
5 minutes late to clock in..you're fired. Illegal took their place.
That plant got raided 4 times over an 8 year period.
Each and every time they were back up and running within a week.

A friend of mine is a senior pilot for an air ambulance outfit in Fort Lauderdale. He said they can’t find qualified pilots. Keeps offering me a job but have no desire to move to south Florida. Yuck.
My son is in research and development, high tech stuff....they haven't been able to get people in their fields for years....It's the same as before...before Trump.
And yes -- unskilled labor shortage...all this rant about illegals taking jobs....and now there are more jobs -- in some areas - then people...but let's just keep yelling that they are taking American jobs away from Americans.
